Our design challenge: refresh the brand of one of British Columbia’s oldest credit unions and create a new branch that sets the template for the future.
This project involved the complete renovation of a commercial unit within the Kingsgate Mall in Vancouver, BC. Working with our clients, we created a forward-thinking system that serves as the new benchmark for future branch design as the credit union expands.
The branch’s location in a busy mall made it critical that the storefront present a bold representation of the evolved GVCC brand, to attract a young, sophisticated demographic. The replacement and expansion of the existing mall storefront facilitates a public view into the updated branch.
Though housed in a small physical space, the design creates an open, welcoming environment. The waiting area is organized around a large, eye-catching, mixed-media piece that was conceived and art directed by Ratio with photography by Adam Myhill.
