Ratio’s Island Savings work featured in global Branch Design Report

Recently released,  a global branch design report features 25 case studies from around the world including RATIO’s work for Island Savings. Published by a banking intelligence provider, Lafferty Group, the report is titled Digital Branch Design: Presence, Openness and Intimacy.

The Digital Branch Design report explains how retail banks are reinventing the branch for the digital age and covers three central themes:

Do branches have a brand new role to play in banking?

• How can banks adapt their branches to stay relevant to their customers?

• What is the new relationship between digital technology and branch design?

Here’s a quote from the Island Savings case study:

“Recognition that individual relationships between branch staff and members is key to the broader long-term relationship building was the basis for every design decision. This resulted in a design which provides clear sightlines and more “meeting space” between staff and customers. Advisors’ offices were transformed into member-focused spaces by getting rid of the traditional ‘meet-across-the desk’ scenario. Now the focus is shifted to the “side-by-side” model that allows customers to see the same information as advisors via wall-mounted screens. The credit union offers customers seminars in the same space.”
